Aero Atlas - App Redesign

Smarter travel starts here.

Challenges

Aero Atlas began is a simple flight tracker for aviation enthusiasts. But research uncovered a deeper opportunity. Travelers were driving the most engagement and revenue. The product needed to evolve. Redesigning Aero Atlas wasn’t just about swapping features. It meant asking the right questions:

How do I rework the core experience to serve travelers better?
How do I surface flight data in a way that feels useful, not overwhelming?
And how do I do all this without alienating the plane spotters who helped build the app’s early identity?

I had a core design challenge. I needed to balance two user groups with very different needs. I also had to prioritize the group that drove growth.I made every decision with intention. It had to be lightweight. It had to be rooted in real-world use.

Solution

Over a full redesign, I evolved Aero Atlas from a static tracking tool into a smarter travel assistant. As the only designer, I rebuilt key screens; turning static cards into adaptive modules, simplifying navigation, and redesigning the flight details page to reflect what travelers actually need in the moment.

Today, the app delivers live alerts, highlights relevant details at each travel stage, and even connects disconnected bookings into one seamless view. It’s intuitive, real-time, and built for motion.
